The six parts of every ad
OpenAI lists the same six components for each standard ad: advertiser name, favicon, title, copy, landing page and image. The name and favicon come from your account settings, which is why ads do not serve until those are filled in.
Copy: new information that expands the title, in plain language.
Ads appear below the end of a ChatGPT response, labelled as sponsored and visually separate from the answer.

What OpenAI says good creative does
Build for coverage with many variations. Keep each one distinct. Be useful and specific. Represent the offer accurately. Titles spell out the value. Copy adds something new instead of repeating the title. Images are simple and match the message.

A note on categories
OpenAI says ads are not eligible to appear near sensitive or regulated topics such as personal health, mental health and politics, and that advertisers in regulated categories such as health and financial services must meet strict eligibility criteria. If you are a clinic, a lender or an insurer, read OpenAI's ads policies before you build creative.
Turning an example into a campaign
One ad group per customer need. Two to five context hints per group. Eight or more distinct ads per group. One landing page per need. UTM tags on every destination URL. Then let the data decide which angle earns the budget.
